Thursday Pocco, my Amazon, and I were hanging out in my computer/chin room. He likes to watch me while I'm online. I had to do something in the other room ,so, I left him on his playstand. Freddy didn't see him and cut out the lights, which, really scared Pocco, who took off flying looking for me. He flew right into a sticky fly trap! The poor baby had it wrapped all around his wing. After I picked Pocco and calmed him down, we removed the fly trap, and ran out the door to get him to the vet. :(
My vet office was still opened (it was about 6 PM) but my exotic vet was gone for the day. All that was in was the regular vet. So, we headed to the emergency vet. When they finally answered their phone, they told us they didn't do birds. So, around we turned and on the phone with our vet we went! They sent us here and there, to all these vets that are suppose to have someone who deals with birds, but, they all answered the same "We don't do birds". No one could even tell us how to get the glue off, so, we could do it ourselves! After we had called every vet in Savannah and some outside of it, our vet told us to bring him in. There was nothing the regular vet could do but kept an eye on him until morning when the exotic vet came in. So, she took him home with her.
They clipped his wings and did his nails, which, he was having done next week anyway, and got him cleaned up the best they could. He still has a little glue left on him, but the vet said the glue is non toxic and Pocco will pick the rest off himself. He is home and he is doing better. He had me scared to death, though!
