I can't help but be annoyed when I see a newbie requesting breeding animals (obviously with no clue because they want cheap) and a chin "breeder" responds with her chins for sale that are definitely not breeding material. Grrrr......the cycle continues :furious3:

Oh this is going to happen forever!!! I think we need to work on improving the human species for awhile! Anyone agree?!

If only you had to have a license to breed yourself! Might clear up a bit of the problem. :roflmao:

Yes, an iq and basic common sense test would be wonderful!

:lol2: Haley...... but I fully agree Brenda... even with me being over here and out of loop a bit on breeding chinchillas, I still have managed to keep up with what I can when I can to keep my knowledge going as I plan on getting back into breeding once back in the states. Like I say somebody may claim to know all there is about breeding chinchillas, but sadly that is not true when there is constantly new information everyday ;)
But yes any respected breeder should of NOT replied to a person wanting "breeding chins" that has never bred or owned chins before. Knowledge is power, and as breeders that is where we should come in strongly, but not all are that way and like Amanda said this will happen forever :(

I hear ya Brenda. Like Amanda said, unfortunately it will always happen.

I try to sell chins to only people I know will be good owners/breeders.

This is also a reason I like to TRY and research potential buyers online a little..*hoping* that they might be active on a forum. Some of the ppl not necessarily asking for chins to breed.. I've found on one forum or another looking into breeding..and obviously not having a clue about it.

Yes, I always get frustrated when I see those ads. And then replies! I want to reach through the monitor and strangle them!

Hmm..funny this came up now. I just had someone looking to buy one of my "pet only males".. for a pet..as I stated he SHOULD BE. Then see elsewhere..said person is actually, looking for a male to breed w/their pet store female.
