It's a sad day at CHC

It's a very hard and sad day for me here at Country Heart Chinchillas. :(

I lost one of my very special boys this morning. Tas was one of my original boys that started me loving chinchillas :heart: I got him and Dalamar from Audie several years ago. They were from the fur farm rescue here in Texas that Audie was involved with. They have been cage buddies from day one and were my boys. I didn't even know he was sick -- he did not show any signs at all. I found him gone this morning. He looked like he went peacefully and I got to love on him last night as I did every night. My chin room will not be the same. Tas, you will be missed dearly. :bawl:

Aww I am sorry to hear that. Just think of all the love you gave him and how much longer his life was extended because you cared to save him from the rescue!!! Give Dalamar some extra loves from me tonight.

I'm so sorry Melinda. What a shock for you to find him like that. I'm glad you feel that he went peacefully though - hopefully that brings some small measure of comfort.

Thanks everyone -- it's great to have a shoulder when you need one. I miss the little guy so much. He was very special to me. Dalamar is acting depressed but he still has Tripod as a cagemate and I just introduced Titus with them and they are all being buds so hope it helps Dalamar. As Audie said though I feel grateful that I was able to love him for a few years -- who knows what his fate would have been had she not rescued them from the fur farm!!
