Well, it's that time of year and the pesty little critters can get us if we are not careful. I had a cat that had seizures really bad and when putting the flea stuff on her (advantage I think it was) put her into really bad seizures so I went on the look for an all natural remedy. I found this one on a website and have used this and works really well. I can treat all my animals, prairie dogs, ferrets, dogs, cats, fox, etc and their bedding and around their cages with it.

Cut one lemon really thin (rind and all)
1 tablespoon of crusehd rosemary

Heat one quart of boiling water to almost boiling. Pour over the above and let sit over night. Then pour into a spray bottle. Spray the animal until damp and rub in with fingers. I also spray around their cages and bedding to help keep pests away. You can also add aloe or tree oil if your pet has dry skin. Keep spray bottle in the refridge and spray once a month or so. I have heard you can also spray yourself with this before going outside and will keep away chiggers, ticks, etc.

I love that it is all natural and not harmful to any of my animals (especially my birds) and smells pretty good too - lol.

We do chemically treat the yard where the dogs go out and around the outside of the house but I really hate using anythng chemical!
