View Full Version : KFC-The Devil?

The other day I was on a road trip and passed a Tyson chicken truck. I had seen cattle on the way to probably the slaughter house before, and it's always hard, but this is the first ever time I saw a chicken truck. The HUGE Tyson logo on it was pretty obnoxious, I thought.
Anyway, the chickens looked over at me as I drove along side, maybe it was my imagination...but they looked sad. It was really traumatic for me... an animal lover.
ANYWAY>>>>THE POINT!
I wondered what happened to chickens after...well, you know, so I went to the PETA site. The things i read about KFC sickened me. This has brought me to an ALL OUT boycott of KFC and I am telling all my friends about it. I do not want to upset any animal lovers, but if you you want to see the facts... Go here (http://www.kfccruelty.com/)
Also, Jason Alexander of "Seinfeld" fame was let go as spokesman of KFC recently when he called for more ethical treatment of the chickens.
Is there a way to feed a country of our size AND treat animals ethically and morally?
I realize we gotta eat. BUT...arent these jerks responsible to make sure these animals have no pain?

KFC settled this issue forever ago..... they admitted their wrong doings and have begun changing their methods.
I honestly don't believe there is a humane way to kill any animal. But PETA certainly is not an unbiased source of information.

I think this is just going way too far. I by all means love animals but I am not an all out animal activist. I also do not consider most of the stuff on the PETA website to be consider "facts". If they got things changed to make KFC people kill animals more humanely and treat them better while waiting to be killed, GREAT!
I am all about the natural food chain. Do I like we have to kill animals for it? no. I don't wanna see it. But I sure wanna eat it.
We killed hundreds of chickens in our front yard when I was little and cleaned the chickens, de-gutted them, and packaged up the meat for sale.
I didn't watch my grandpa but a couple times cutting the chickens heads off. It was a little disturbing. But then again we treated the chickens well before slaughter. So is that ok??
If PETA had their way we'd all be vegatarians. I am not willing to let my love for animals become that radical. I am a meatatarian in fact! LOL! I swear I won't eat nearly a single vegatable!

Just recently, I saw someone post a link to an article about how many animals are killed or loose their natural homes when fields are harvested.
I do wonder how people that think they are soooo much better for not eating meat or poultry justify that? If all animals are sacred to them... or are the mice, snakes, and rabbits in the fields at the time of harvest considered different?
I eat at KFC, and that won't change. PETA's site is not what I consider a non-bias source.

Here, here Jeff!!!
I am one of those very anti PETA people. They are not any where near as eithical as they like to pretend. Some may have good intentions in mind but as the saying goes... the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Others in that group are completely out of hand. I will not visit a site that has anything to do with PETA. I do belive there are better ways of caring for animals as a whole, but to me killing people over it is not the way to go.
I will still eat at KFC mainly because chicken is one of my staple foods. I am very glad to hear they are trying to change their methods. I can't say they are wrong because over the years I have enjoyed thier food and their prices. Now that they are changing things around some of that will change. It is worth it, but by boycotting them for something no one seemed to care about before just doesn't seem fair when we all benefitted from it in the past. I will be willing to pay more at their store if I know they treated the chickens better leading to their deaths, but I have to admitt, somewhere inside slaughtering chickens and cows is distrubing no matter how it is done, and I still eat meat.

This is nature. What humans do to survive is human nature. Plus what the PETA always declares only supports what they believe in and our very biased in their opinions and their facts are always off. There is no nice way to kill an animal but all animals who eat meat kill... They kill because that is their nature like our nature is to eat meat and vegies. People say we can live without it... But I have yet to see anyone who was heathy without eating animal products. They say they are but do they look it? We our animals therefore we follow our instincts to eat meat we just evolved beyond what other animals. I love animals dearly however that is what chickens and cattle and pigs are mostly raised for is meat. They are not wild animals. They stoped being wild since the farmer or the human domesticated them. But anyway this is how our world is... This is how we survive in this world. I know it is sad but this is life!

Well I myself...........Don't Believe Everything That PETA Shows On Their Website Is TRUE!!
And I am a Meat eater, I Love Meat!! So sue me I guess :lol3:
At least we HAVE food to eat, go to countries where everyone is starving and Dieing of Starvation, that's what is Pitiful!!!!! They would LOVE to have meat like we have here, and I don't think they would care How It Is Killed, just as long as they could put it in the Stomachs!!..............Sorry but that just pooped into my mind so I typed it.
Dont' get me wrong, I LOVE ANIMALS!! But this World HAS to eat!! I would imagine longer ago, they had even more grosser ways of killing animals for food. Think about it!!
